Hospital da Luz is acknowledge by its strong bet on innovation and clinical research, viewing to transform Medicine and improve the healthcare provided to patients. These activities are developed by its professionals with the support of Hospital da Luz Learning Health, company of the group in highlight in the latest TV show “CNN Innovation”, broadcasted on 5 and 6 October and available on the CNN online platform . “The important is to do things that matter for patients and since the beginning the Luz Saúde group has maintained the essential goal of integrating research in the practice of Medicine. Which has allowed us not only to conduct clinical trials, but also to support researchers with their projects”, emphasizes Raquel Gil-Gouveia , president of the Group’s research committee, interviewed in this TV show. Among the research in process, the reportage highlights the INTERCEPT (*) , a world project aiming to change the future of Chron disease, by finding a way to prevent its development, as explains gastroenterologist Joana Torres . Hospital da Luz Learning Health is also part of the Test Beds national network. “As Test Bed, it encompasses three pillars: the in silico lab (where we are preparing a very comprehensive health database), the simulation lab (to support new companies developing their solutions), and living lab (the real hospital, where we are able to support startups in data gathering so they can take their solutions to the market)”, stated Francisca Leite , the company director.
