In the presence of some of the highest individualities in the region and of Luz Saude, and with more than a hundred guests, it was held Monday, Sept. 9, the inauguration of the Hospital da Luz Clínica da Carreira, the new private unit of the Hospital da Luz network in Madeira. Hospital da Luz Clínica da Carreira, which joins the Hospital da Luz Funchal and Clínica do Caniço in the offer of the Luz Saúde group in the Region, is the latest unit of the Hospital da Luz network and has a set of health care of high quality, capable of responding to the health needs of the lay-in population in a single place and with all convenience. Situated in the center of the Funchal, with one of the most important areas of service in the city, this new outpatient center bears in a recognized and differentiated clinical team, which, supported by top-of-the-line equipment, is prepared to accompany the health of all those we serve and guarantee the right care, at the right time. That was right pointed by Luz Saúde CEO Isabel Vaz in the speech he delivered at this opening, thanking health professionals who are part of this team “for the requirement they daily give their work and with which they challenge us” to always do “ the better by the health of Madeira” . Referring the investment of more than five million euros in the redevelopment of the building where the clinic is installed – “an iconic building of the Funchal, which is so represented for all the people at Madeira” -, Isabel Vaz recalled the role of the Healthcare sector in the development of healthy and economically sustainable societies, to refer to the “contribution of the Hospital da Luz network for the sake of the health of the inhabitants of the region and tourists who visit”. “This is our humble contribution to that Madeira continues to distinguish themselves at work for solid health for all Madeira people. And the moment you're building one of the country's best and most modern hospitals here (the new Madeira Central Hospital), know that we want to work solidly in partnership with you, for the health of Madeira people,” he said, ending: "Count on us for our country's development, and in this case for the Madeira Region." Miguel Albuquerque, Chairman of the Regional Government, also left in this ceremony a message of cooperation and trust in the relations between the public and private sectors of Madeira health. “This investment from Luz Saude is very important in terms of strengthening supply capacity in the Region. The Group employs 100 persons here, in permanent terms, and has about 400 employees, which is significant and important in the response that the Autonomous Region has to give to its inhabitants and who visits them, in terms of health care,” said, arguing “the absolute conciliation of freedom of choice between the public health sector and the private sector,” as industries that “are complementary and that can be greesingly competing” . “This new Hospital da Luz is going to be a hit. Congratulations all! You can rely on the Regional Government for what is necessary,” he concluded. For his part, Funchal City Hall Deputy Bruno Pereira took advantage of the occasion to thank the investment made by Luz Saude in the building recovery, “a building that has an extremely affective load high for the generation of the 60s and 70s, as is my case, which I was born here” and whose architectural and historical value all pointed out. The ceremony still featured the words of thanks by Carlota Cavaco, the managing director at the Hospital da Luz in Madeira, to all present, especially to the Luz Saúde partners in this project: the Risco architecture firm and the Máxima Dinâmica builder.
